Major eye surgeries are performed at Pacific Surgery Center, our new state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center in Ventura, on an out-patient basis. Minor surgeries are performed in our own microsurgical suite.
We are commited to offering the latest and most advanced eye care technology available. In 2005 we acquired the Eyemaginations patient education system as well as the Optos wide-field retinal laser scanning system. In 2003 we became the first practice in the central coast to perform laser endocyclophotocoagulation (ECP) for glaucoma. We are proud to be one of the first practices in California to offer all three presbyopic IOLs for cataract surgery. Dr. Lum is one of the few doctors experienced in the implantation of this breakthrough technology. Dr. Lum has been performing LASIK refractive surgery since its inception in 1997. He was one of the early adopters of this technique, enabling many Ventura County residents the opportunity to have natural, unencumbered vision.
Dr. Lum was among the first surgeons in Southern California to perform No-stitch, No-Needle, No-Patch, Clear Cornea Cataract Surgery using state of the art “phacoemulsification.” A major advance in cataract surgery, this procedure can be performed in less than ten minutes on an outpatient basis. Most patients can resume normal activities the day of the surgery, and many patients are seeing better minutes after their surgery.
